Old school

Today my cousin Beverly moved in to her dorm at Texas A&M University, where I also attended. In fact, she's living in the dorm I lived in my sophomore year.

"Bev, I lived in that dorm the first year it opened!" I told her. "That was, uh, the year you were born."

That's when I realized it isn't a new dorm to her, it's as old as she is! I remember when my mom picked me up from there to take me to the hospital to see newborn baby Bev.

How could I be so old?

Wow, talk about milestones! How ancient does that make you feel?

Hey, what dorm was it? I was a "Neely Knockout" back in '92. That was one of the newest dorms then.

Was that the brainy dorm right next to Chez-Grease? I was in Walton for most of my tenure. I know we've talked about it before. I think it's been close to 20 years since I was back to B/CS. Where's my mc-cane?

Living in a dorm: how fun! 'Course, my first room mate was a complete dud, so my for me, dorm life didn't get good until after I moved to another room; but I made it two full years in Haas Hall.

I know...when Bev was here in NYC for her visit, I realized I'm currently twice her age. And believe me, I felt it after running around with her all over this city!

I didn't enjoy the dorm life so much. I enjoyed living with you, my big sis, much more! And the vet parties were the best.

That is funny...kind of like when I was asked if my nanny was my son's older sister! She's 21 and he's 2-yikes!! (She does look more like a teenager...but still!!!)
