The more the merrier

It was another scorcher here today. The kids didn't even venture outside until after dinner. They played nicely together all day, mostly in their pyjamas.

Out of the blue, they started lobbying for another sibling.

"Let's have a baby brother!" Colin said.

"I want a sister!" Anna said.

"Guys, you don't get to pick!" I told them.

"Let's have twins!" said Colin.

"You could adopt," Anna said.

"Where are these babies going to sleep?" I asked them. "Plus, if we have more babies, its going to be a lot longer before we can go to Europe again. I really like having two big school-aged kids."

"Oh, I hadn't thought of that," said Anna. End of discussion!

Yep, funnily enough even Luke is starting to hassle for a sibling. I swear he is broody, he looks at babies in prams and goes aaaaahhh mummy look. The guilt kicks in and then I start to think hmmm maybe we should try for another one before I'm completely past it, then he acts like a complete nightmare and I quickly reconsider.

Let's make a deal -- I'll have them for you and Paula both -- I actually walked past my car today at the post office while gazing and drooling at a lady taking her newborn out of her car. And I have a 14 month old. Sheesh.
