Salad Days

Here's a post, finally, without any cake! I know some parts of the country are still in the grips of winter, but as you can see, my salad bucket runneth over. In a month, the lettuces will be done because it will be too hot. I wish you could freeze the lettuce or can it or something. I wish we could bottle this beautiful spring weather, too.

Despite the horrible day Friday, we did have a good weekend. Anna had her ballet exam on Saturday midday (she did great). Earlier in the morning she went outside to play with her brother. I looked up from the breakfast dishes to see her up to the elbows in mud. "You realize you are going to have to take a shower now before ballet, right?" I asked her. My knee jerk reaction was to be mad, but then I realized I'm glad she is the kind of girl who can play in the mud with her brother and flounce around in a tutu. The dog needed a bath, too, since they piled mud on top of her as well.

Happy girls at Baskin Robbins after the exam.

There's also this:

There are about 8,000 baby dandelions all over our yard; I think your salad would be better and bigger.

What ever happened to the front yard? Did the stones get set? anything planted?

I'm so glad the ballet exam went well! The picture of the girls looks great.
I recognize Cole with the kids beneath all the stickers. Looks like they had a silly good time!

I like the photos! I'm so glad you let her play in the mud. It is nice to have that kind of muddy/tutu girl. Yea, Anna!

And the salad look delish.

Jealous of the greens, although I do get some from Steph's front yard garden that are nice.

Nice pics, I'm glad Anna did well.

Love the pic of the girls "baskin" in the glory of their ballet exam, but where's the mud shot? ;) Wish we could send some of those greens up to my slushy-snow-melting-but-not-yet-warm friends in NY, NH & MA

What a great picture of the kids from the party! They sure had a great time! I still laugh when I think of Anna's reaction when the balloon popped!
