This guy is a total sweetheart. "Do you think the scar will make the chicks dig me more?"
The sad part is that this means someone in his neighborhood is mean enough to shoot BBs at a cat. If it had hit his eye, he would have lost it. Now he can't go out without supervision anymore. Unfortunately in Texas, if the cat (or dog) is on your property, you can shoot it.

There's this big assed cat that lives next door to us in our new T H and, he thinks he owns all the territory. I have pondered on how to dissuade him from trespassing in MY back yard. I think I will spray him with water.
You know, not everyone is bonkers on moggies........
But I do not like the cruelty that was shown to the good looking cat you cared for.

I can help you with that problem Eric.."Get off my Garden" crystals..they really work and are harmless to animals and have a fresh ,clean smell...I use it all the time 'cos we too have a Cat that likes our front garden for a loo! People on the BBC gardening Forum all ask how they can stop the Cat from pooing on their garden...I tell them all..the green crystals and they have all had success with them..try 'em.
Just another word about why I too am not keen on Cats...our Dad used to discourage them as they came along the wall in the backyard...even threw water on them...:o) they liked my Dad. :o) I don't think!
Yeah, poor kitty that's just plain mean. I hate cats and I especially hate it when someone else's cat comes in my yard and tries to kill the little animals that have taken refuge there.
Our solution however is not quite so cruel... we just keep a stock of those little nerf balls at the backdoor (soft, but enough to give them a little jolt) and wing them at em anytime we see them stalking or otherwise being a nuisance.
I'm glad the cat was okay though :O)
As the owner of this cutie 12 year old feline, I must say that he is recovering very well. Yes, he loves to hunt but since we just moved to Texas he has stayed near home. The local authorities have been forwarned and this kitty is only outside when we are home and he can be under supervision. He was a wild ferral kitten when he adopted us during a blizzard. He knows how lucky he is and very much appreciated the aid of his new favorite vet.

Our wonderful governor just signed a bill into law that makes it legal for land owners to shoot people if the are simply trespassing on someones land. The previous law said you could shoot someone if they were in your home. I'm sadly waiting for the day someone LEGALLY shoots a passerby (usually a child) as they cut through someones yard.
Bruno, my adopted geriatric dog of ages ago, had 2 BBs in him. One, somewhat alarmingly, in the middle of his forehead. The other, in the middle of his back - right in the middle of where one would rub him. It was a constant reminder of what he had been through and how happy we were have him with us in his "golden years."
